Who can apply?

Pre-existing newsrooms looking to expand and grow in all internal and external sectors.

Requirements:

You can demonstrate efficacy of your work in the community you serve
You have a growth plan with plans to scale reporting up and a path to consistent funding and funding growth
Your team includes (or will include) an experienced editorial leader who understands and believes in the intersection of community, product and revenue, a business or nonprofit professional in senior leadership who is committed to local, community-driven news and First Amendment values, and a highly engaged board that has skills and expertise to support you in growth
You are working towards systemized funding, a staff and board with financial-management experience, and a healthy governance culture that is constantly looking to become more just, equitable, and inclusive
You are committed to being a part of a national movement for local nonprofit news and are eager to learn from and teach other organizations/leadership teams

A dedicated support person on the AJP team who will work with management to promote growth through funding provided

Tools and resources to ensure best practices and make recruitment/training seamless
